We should warn you: Lucy is a hugger! It's kinda like getting a hug from a child. She stands on the tippy-toes of her back feet and gently lifts herself up to wrap her paws around you, leaning softly into you as if to say she loves you. She's not being aggressive. She's not jumping. She's hugging you so gently to let you know that you're one of her favorite people on this whole big earth.

Lucy came to Austin Pets Alive! with a severe case of mange. Our vets have treated her, and her last test came back negative -- and that's a great thing! Now we'll all be keeping on eyes on her to watch as her hair grows back. We've never seen her with a full coat of healthy fur, so we can't wait to watch her blossom as she becomes more beautiful with each day.

Lucy is a young dog so she still has a good bit of energy. We'd love to see her with a family who spends lots of time outdoors, walking around the lake, swimming, and visiting parks and coffee shops around town. We also hope she'll find a family who will continue to teach her good doggie manners. She's a smart girl, so we know this won't be any problem at all.

And after she burns off some energy with a good walk around the neighborhood with her family, Lucy will be ready to curl up at your feet for a movie or a relaxing afternoon reading a book. She's happy to be exactly where you are. So happy, in fact, that she's likely to sneak over and give you a big hug.
